Dress like a Popstar with Lincs FM and Downtown Stores

On Tuesday the 27th of April we helped Lincs FM with their 'Dress like a Popstar' event, raising money for local charity 'Cash for Kids'.

Downtown Stores teamed up with Lincs FM for the exciting Cash for Kids 'Dress like a Popstar' day.

Cash for Kids helps disadvantaged children across the UK. This grant giving charity’s mission is to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in local communities who are affected by poverty, illness, neglect or have additional needs. They believe that all children should be able to express their individuality, achieve their potential and live life to the full.

Cash for Kids works with grass-roots organisations that aim to make a difference to young lives, directly supporting families who often have nowhere else to go.

Downtown have helped raise money for our local charities that link with Cash for Kids and so far have raised a fantastic £1,000. This money raised will go directly to Lincolnshire based charities for children in need of extra support.

Joseph Begley (aka Ginger Spice) from the Lincs FM Breakfast Show headed over to our Downtown Store in Boston for a full, glamourous makeup look from our Estee Lauder team. The aim was to have his makeup done to match his ‘dress like a pop star’ look to raise money for Cash for Kids.

The event hosted by Lincs FM has raised a whopping £33,507 in total so far. Every £50 received funds a grant to help one child with basics like food, heating and electricity, clothing, bedding and toiletries. So with the funds raised so far, Lincs FM and Cash for Kids are going to able to help at least 470 local children!
